Islamic values for brighter tomorrows

Recap
We began with a brief recap of last Monday’s assembly to remind the children of the key points we discussed.
Serving Allah
We discussed serving Allah and what serving Him means.
More Than Just Salah
Several examples were shared to help pupils understand that serving Allah is not limited to acts of worship such as salah. It also includes the way we behave, the choices we make, how we treat others, and how we fulfil our responsibilities.
Surah Al-Isra – 17:23
وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا
“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be good to your parents....”
(Surah Al-Isra 17:23)
Worship Allah alone
Our purpose is to worship and obey Allah.
Be good to parents
Treat them with kindness and respect.
When they reach old age
Be especially patient and caring towards them.
Do not say “uff”
Do not show irritation or annoyance.
Do not rebuke them
Never speak harshly or disrespectfully.
Speak to them graciously
Use kind, gentle and respectful words.
Serving Allah is reflected in our worship, behaviour, choices, responsibilities and the way we treat our parents and others.
